ASIAN GOLF CLUB.

Asian Golf Club was founded in 1999 in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The owner approached me with an opportunity to elevate the customer experience with a budget of $25k. The goal of the transformation is to stay competitive in the driving range scene and garner a larger, younger customer base.

Role: Experience Designer

By walking through the establishment, I determined 3 primary touch points that can greatly uplift or worsen a customer’s mood at a driving range.

JOURNEY MAP

How can we make the establishment easier to find?

The driving range is nestled in a plaza hidden by trees, so it is easy to miss. The establishment was especially hard to find at night, so I designed a backlit monument sign to guide people in.

Materials: LEDs, Acrylic, Aluminum, Vinyl, Concrete, Powder Coated Steel

PART 1: STREET SIGN

How can we make the golfing experience more pleasant?

Guests could not clearly see where their balls were landing. I made the signs bolder and color coordinated the flags to bring a renewed air to the field.

Materials: Aluminum Sheets, Vinyl

How can we improve the ambiance of the establishment?

Since the driving range is called Asian Golf Club, I wanted to improve the decorations of the establishment through displaying pictures of Taiwan. To kick this process off, I traveled on a 7 day road trip around the island of Taiwan to take pictures of nature, culture, and people.

PART 3: Picture portals

I rented a workshop for a day and made the frames.
